Chad has been a Prior Lake resident for more than 26 years. He moved to Prior Lake in 1982 from Sioux Falls South Dakota, where he was born in 1968. Chad graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1986 and studied marketing and management at Mankato State University from 1986-1991.

Chad has been married to his wife, Mona, since 1996. They were married at St Michael’s church in Prior Lake. Mona grew up in Shakopee and was a graduate of Shakopee high school in 1989. Mona attended and graduated from St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN in 1993 with a degree in Communications.  Together they have three wonderful children.

Jenna, 11, is the oldest and in 6th grade this year. She attends St. Michaels School. She loves to sing and dance. Jenna most recently worked at the Chanhassen Dinner theatre as Cousettee in LesMiserable and was the child lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoats. Jenna has also danced at Premier Dance in Prior Lake for the past 7 years.

Curtis, 8, loves sports and the outdoors. Curtis will be a 3rd grader at St. Mikes. Curtis has been wrestling since he was 4 years old. He has won the USA Wrestling National title the past two years. This past year Curtis was a triple crown winner in Minnesota. He won the State Grecko, Freestyle and Folkstyle state titles. Curtis also plays football and baseball. He loves to fish at the cabin, hunt pheasants in South Dakota and ride four wheelers.

Rachel, 5, is the baby. Rachel will attend kindergarten at St Michaels Catholic School in the fall. She also made her first dance team. (Wee Kicks) Rachel brightens everyone’s day.

Chad is Co-owner of three businesses in Prior Lake. Chad is proud to employee more than 50 people. Above All Hardwood Floors was established in 1996 and specializes in hardwood floor installation, sanding and finishing. Above All Hardwood Floors was the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce business of the year in 2005. Above All Hardwood Floor Distribution specializes in selling hardwood flooring wood and materials to local flooring contractors. Performance Construction is a residential home builder/remodeler. Chad, along with several other local businesses is currently in the process of building a new facility located in Prior Lake. This 18,000 square foot facility will be a mix of office and warehouse space.

Chad has been an active member of St. Michaels church since 1982. Chad is a member of the Prior Lake rotary. He has worked with the children of Prior Lake by donating time to the Prior Lake D.A.R.E. program and helps students understand business by teaching in Junior Achievement. Chad is a member of the Prior Lake and Shakopee Chambers of Commerce. Chad is currently one of several coaches who coach the Prior Lake Youth Wrestling program and serves as Vice-President of fundraising on the board of directors.

Chad was appointed to the Prior Lake City council in 2002. He was re-elected to the city council in 2204 and again in 2008. He has served as deputy mayor for 2 years and is the president of the Prior Lake Economic Development Authority. Chad has been a champion of the 2030 vision and strategic plan. 

Chad loves to spend time with his family. He is very active participating in activities with his children. Chad dances with his daughter Jenna on Sunday nights at Premiere Dance in Prior Lake. Chad said “It is so hard to find ways to bond with daughters, I can hunt and fish with my son, but my daughters do not want to do those activities. Dads n Dolls dance gives me a great way to stay connected with my daughters.” When Chad is not spending time with his kids he loves to hunt pheasants in South Dakota and fish on Prior Lake. He also tries to stay fit by running or playing racquetball weekly.
