City Council Accomplishments
Redevelopment
- New Post Office- one of two approved USPS projects
- New businesses, Diggers Polaris, Village Market, Edelweiss Bakery, Sul Lago Restaurant, Body Rox, Premier Dance, New Market Bank, Tractor Supply.
- New Buildings – Lakefront Plaza, Norex, On Site Engineering, Speiker Building Addition, Rock Creek Building, Premier Dance Building, Village Commerce Building, Triple Play, Busse Bus, Shepards Path,
- Approval of 30 lot industrial/commercial lots
Revitalized Downtown
- Streetscaping of Downtown Streets
- Facade Improvements by Downtown Businesses. Twelve businesses have invested 2.4 million into businesses.
- Rotary Gateway rain garden
- Five new buildings built downtown
- Farmers Market Flourishing
- Parking Plan Developed
- Club Prior – Chad championed the new Senior Center. The first in Prior Lake
Financial Accomplishments
- Lowest Property tax Rate in Scott County since 2006.
- Excellent Bond Rate, Prior Lake is in the top 3% of all Minnesota Cities. This rating greatly improves the interest rate that we borrow money at.
- 43% general fund balance.
Community Vision
- Adoption of 2020 Vision and two updates
- First community to receive met council approval of 2030 comp plan
- Implemented philosophy that teamwork, relationships and partnerships are most important to guiding the cities growth.
- Orderly annexation agreement with Spring Lake Township
Infrastructure Added
- Added three wells to water system
- Construction of new fire station under budget
- Construction of new city hall
- Construction of new police station
Natural Resources
- Creation and preservation of new park area. Pike Lake area was purchased with $900,000 of grants.
- Ryan park improvements. Added lights and dug outs. $650,000 in improvements that was paid for by donations.
